Shaping Her

Shaping and empowering every woman to be the healthiest sexiest her.

I am a mother, a wife and a fitness enthusiast. I love to cook and I love to eat and I love to sweat it all out again! I want women everywhere to be empowered, to find their shape and feel sexy. Eating healthy is important to me and my family and that’s what I want for your family.

I hate that so many women are on anti depressants. I want to see that change! I believe that can be accomplished in part through good food and activity.

Here’s a bit of my story: I gained around 55 pounds with my son, I am not sure exactly because I stopped weighing at some point because it just made me feel terrible. I kept hearing over and over again what a terrible thing it was to gain over 35 pounds. The weight didn’t just “fall off” after I had him either! During my pregnancy I also developed an over-breathing disorder of some kind, it is akin to asthma. No one knew what to do about it. Even after my son was 9 months old I still couldn’t jog for 1/4 mile without wheezing. I actually couldn’t jog a mile at all.  In the summer of ’09 I said enough was enough. I broke out my bike the first time and hooked up the baby trailer and set off on a 18 mile ride. After that I was unstoppable.

I have now completed several century bike rides. I have run 2 half marathons, one of which I placed 1st. I also participated in my first duathlon and placed 1st in my age category and 13th overall out of 1,105 women.

Getting in shape stopped my over-breathing problems and has given me the outlet I needed at this time in my life.

Oh, and by the way I weigh less than I did when I got pregnant 3 years ago but even more than that I am healthier, leaner and more sure of myself.
